Aquatic Weed Control
While many aquatic plants are desirable, beautiful and oftentimes necessary, they can sometimes become a problem and interfere with man’s use of the aquatic environment. That's when it's time to call in the experts at Apex Pest Control.
After thorough analysis, we will recommend and utilize any of three basic methods to control aquatic weeds:
• Mechanical control and/or environmental manipulation
• Biological control
• Chemical control
Mechanical/environmental control may consist of simply trimming trees and plants at the water's edge, reducing habitat that promotes aquatic weed growth. Biological control is more complex and may consist of the addition of certain species of fish that consume weeds. Chemical control (herbicides) is also effective; however, it’s very important to assess the volume of water, types of weeds and the correct and most economical herbicide.
With all three methods, expertise is a must and proper identification of the particular weed(s) is the first step in implementing the necessary control. Your experienced, professional Apex representative can make that assessment and recommend the most effective and environmentally sound treatment plan.
